FFRC Weekly Blog Week Ending October 5, 2024

Adoptions:

Brandi was adopted!  This sweet mom cat leaves to spend the rest of her life with the family that had adopted Maybelle previously.  In addition to Maybelle, she will have a brother, Topaz.

New Cats:

Yet another brown tiger kitten, about 2 months old, was found in the parking lot of Taco Bell.  She was in very, very rough shape.  It was hard to figure out what had happened, injury, illness?  Seemed like a CH kitty but not quite CH. Definitely neurological issues.

In consultation with Dr. Darcy, it is now believed she has toxoplasmosis (spelling?  What’s spelling)  This is a contagious (to cats and humans) toxin that requires about 3 or 4 week treatment where she needs to be segmented from other cats and only a couple of humans (mainly just Megan and Lynnette).  Each day she is improving, slowly, step by step.

Health Updates:
Choco (lazy legs kitty) went to the vet this week for x-rays.  He does have a spinal lesion on his spine.  He may improve a little more but will probably always be a ‘lazy legs’ cat.

He does very well getting around.

Halo went up this week to get spayed, but she already was!

Other Updates:

Flash sale on Wednesday, October 9th.  Lots of fall/Halloween stuff.  11:00 a.m.  To raise money for the general fund.

FYI:
There will be calm after a storm, but most importantly, love will prepare you before it, sustain you through it  and give you the strength to move forward once the storm is over. Boo
