Super busy times here. I have definitely gotten behind and something had to give.  Unfortunately, it was the blog. But......let's get this caught up now! Lots of updates-----

Karleen did have her amputation of her rear left leg. She is doing wonderful. Such a beautiful torti with rich deep gold markings on her. Her sutures are out and she can whiz around here like she has extra legs!

We had a Flash Sale on 11/10. This brought in $1038.  Our PawMart store is packed and so we have been having weekly flash sales. Many thanks to the Flashy Mods for their extra help. We have another Flash Sale this Weds. 11/24 at 11:00.   Lots of great items--would be super for Christmas!

We also had a Fun-Raiser on 11/17. This brought in $1,965. But then, the wonderful bump ups began and brought in $1,147.  This made a total of $3,112.

All of our Flash Sales and Fun-Raisers go towards our routine monthly bills. These are a huge help to us and keep us afloat.

Those adopted:

11/6--Veronica, Frumpkins and Cheshire were all adopted together, to the same family.  I've seen lots of pictures of them and all seem happy and relaxed.  They have two dogs in the family and they all get along just fine!

11/8--Killion was adopted. She is in a wonderful home and is super loved.  I've received a note back that she has found her forever home with this family!

11/9--Trix was adopted to our new friends Cindy and Linda. Trix is bonded with Cindy. She is overcoming her shyness and has other cat friends to play with.

11/12--Courage was adopted. She also found the perfect home. She went into a home with 2 other cats and is quite happy!

11/13--Meander was adopted. Oh my......this is such an extra sweet boy who we all extra loved. He's a purr machine. He went into a home that had adopted from us before. They were ready to give another cat a wonderful forever home.

11/20--Bushie was adopted. He ended up having her pin pulled one week early as it was pressing on a nerve and causing discomfort. It took a few days but her appetite returned and she could walk and run with no pain. A person waited patiently for her to be well enough to be adopted!

11/20--Fifer was adopted! He absolutely loved his new mama from the moment he met her! It was ever so sweet. He went out the door, purring his heart out!

I have been asked about Cupid.  Yes, he was adopted. We had a few reservations due to him spraying just a few times. But.....he is doing great and has adapted to his new home just fine. The person who shot Cupid with the arrow is not 100% confirmed yet,  More than several leads point to a certain person but no warrants have been given.......yet.

We had another HumaneOhio spay/neuter day this past Thursday. We sent up 43 cats. This was made up of 23 females and 20 males.  Many thanks to Lynnette, Becky, Gem, Mary Braid and Debbie for your help with this event. It was an interesting check in.  One cat busted out of her crate when getting out of the car. Luckily, the owner was able to retrieve her after 20 minutes. We had another crate that came apart coming up to check in. Debbie grabbed it fast and Becky patched it up. We had many crates on this run that needed reinforcements (thanks for all those zip strips that were sent to us!). All cats did great with their surgeries.

We have now sold out of BOTH of the calendars that we offered!  Friday night Mary ordered 300 of the monthly type calendars. These sold quickly! And then we had 46 day by day type calendars, designed by Sue OD. These also sold out right away.  All pages were filled with FFRC cats (and even barn animals and dogs).  Thanks for this support.

My desk has been extra full of cats!  I've been putting on all different kinds of videos for the cats. Some are of mice running around, birds feeding, squirrels, deer, coons---all kinds of animals scurrying about. The cats and kittens are sure enjoying it.  They pack themselves like sardines on the desk! Shaz  and Lena especially loves it and looks behind the monitor for those critters!

This next Saturday, Dr. Darcy will be here. We are planning on getting the Covies and Firehouse cats their physicals.

All is good here. We'd like to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

Sad things happen in rescue work....it's inevitable.  And we have had that happen this week.  Unfortunately and with great sadness, all 5 of our Bronson kittens have passed away.  One after the other.  They didn't gain weight. They were not very active. People ask......why does this happen?  We don't always know.  But, I know they were not out in the terrible weather anymore and not soaking wet and shivery.  We tried to keep their tummies full.  Always a warm heater in their bed. Lots of TLC given. I wish I had a better reason as to what happen, but sometimes, we simply do not know.

We took in a new cat. Her name is Karleen and she is 1 1/2 years old. Her birthday is 5/7/20. She arrived 10/30/21. Her rear left leg had two terrible fractures--complete. Our vet amputated her leg. She arrived very thin but is already gaining weight. Her walking gait is very smooth. Karleen is a beautiful torti.

Thursday was our HumaneOhio spay/neuter day. We sent up 41 cats and kittens, 7 of which were FFRC's.  The count came to 26 females and 15 males.  We sent up 6 of Veronica's 7 kittens and also Killian. All have done very well.

Weds. was our Flash Sale.  We have such awesome items that have been sent to us so we have been having frequent Flash Sales. I so appreciate the support of these.  This one brought in $877.  A wonderful amount to help us pay bills!

We will have another Flash Sale this Weds. 11/10. This one will have some Christmas items and items that would make nice gifts!  Come join us at 11:00.

The washer is working great!  We're just getting use to the different functions that it has!

I've been asked about Bushie.  He seems off a bit but is eating. His gait just has a little limp.  A week from Monday he goes back to the vet for another x-ray. It's possible his pin will be pulled. Sometimes they are pulled and sometimes left in. He is in Dodger's Pen at the moment and just devoured a whole FF appetizer!

Little Trix is still adjusting--she is our white kitten with the tiger tail.  She has spent quite a bit of time in the double condo in the Main Area.  It makes it easy for us to get her frequently for lots of hands on.  She is right now in June's Room with her friend Killian. Trix seem pretty relaxed in that room.  Ramsay says it's ok to share his room!

We still have a few calendars to be sent.  We also have a few calendars we are still waiting for payment. We had a bit of a hold up on the calendars for mailing as our mailing system went down for a couple days. But all is well now.

We have a surprise calendar coming up real soon to show you.  It too is amazing!  More on that soon!

We are working on getting the flea treatment--Bravecto-- on all the Porchies, Fire Cats, Barnies and Covies.  It takes a bit of time to get all the cats done!

All is good here. Wishing you all a great Sunday.

Happy Thanksgiving month!  The kitties and cats are thinking of all the things they are thankful for. I heard some thoughts as to warm beds, soft blankies, snackers, chickie treats, sunshine coming in the windows, lots of hugs and TLC, cat walks to zoom on, being healthy! I also heard a couple times about them being thankful for that "thing on the wall that we all talk to! They know good things come from that "thing on the wall"!  They are still building their lists.

We've had 5 more adoptions!

10/26--- Patty Ann and Fuzzy were adopted together. They went into another really loving home. I've seen a few pictures already and they sure look happy!

10/29---Ian and Tycho were adopted together. Two wonderful kittens getting to live in the same home! Happy days for them and their new family!

October--Wigglesworth. He had made a trip to the vet's office for a check up. A person there ended up falling in love and adopted him. He is doing very well and is a purring machine!

We had a Flash Sale last week.  This sale went towards our utility bills--it brought in $1,352.  A wonderful amount of help! Many thank yous.

We also had $148.17 donated to FFRC from Best Friends Animal Society for the ResQWalk.  That much, simply by walking, running or biking! It's amazing how it adds up.  Many thanks for turning those miles into dollars for FFRC.  All it takes to participate is a smart phone with the app ResQWalk!

We now have Cupid in the Paddys Place room, hopefully adjusting to be out and about in the Main Area.  He's quite a nice cat. Epona is out and about and a very happy cat. Such a beautiful torti. Princess Tiger Lilly is very happy being in the Main Area. A nice quiet adult. She especially likes the Kitty Kabana room.

The new washer is HERE!  We are so so happy about this and very grateful to have a working washer again.  Many thanks to everyone who helped to pitch in to make this a bit easier for us--- people donated money to do laundry at the laundromat, volunteers took laundry both to their home and to the laundromat, people donated money to go towards the washer.  It is here and paid for and we are so thankful. We can't do the giant loads in this one but no matter..........we have a working washer!  The dryer is still working nicely.

Saturday was our physical day, by Dr. Darcy.  We did 95% of the exams that we wanted to, here in the rescue center.  Most were perfect (of course!) but we do have a few that need a dental. We will be making those appointments. We were also able to get 6 Porchie cats in for their physicals too.

We are preparing for winter.  The furnace guy was here today and checked all 5 furnaces here on the property. All seem to be in good working order!

We took in a young adult, another torti on 10/30.  Her name is Karleen. She was found on a property and brought to FFRC.  Her rear left leg has 2 major complete fractures. Plus she was absolutely ravenous--so thin and so hungry. She went up to Dr. Darcy's today. X-rays tell a sad story of how bad the fractures are. Hoping her surgery for amputation will be this afternoon. Karleen is a nice cat and was very happy to have her tummy filled and a warm bed.

This Weds. at 11:00 is another Flash Sale! We are trying to get some of our flash sale inventory out! It's wonderful because these are all donated items!

This past week we received some heavy rain. Again, was so grateful for a new good roof. I'm afraid the kitties and cats would've had to get their life jackets out had the roof not been replaced.

The investigation in regards to Cupid (the arrrow cat) continues. A couple leads are being worked on. The reward for solid information is now at $2,000.  We truly want a conviction for Cupid.

Take care, everyone and know that you are very appreciated by myself and the cats and kitties!
