Happy 4th all! Rain, rain and some more rain! We are sure getting some lately and it's wonderful. The ducks and geese are having a wonderful time and I feel like the grass is already greening up! I love rainy days.
We have lots of updates to catch up on, but I'll try to make this short!
First up...IMPROVE-A-THON!!!! Wow that's sneaking up before you know it. This will be July 10th to the 15th. This is our biggest funraiser of the year. This year we are hoping to cover the expense of the A/C, "walls" for the shelter house, fence repairs, new website (ours is terrible out of date and not working well with all the updates), and so many more things.
We will do doing the 'adopt an envelope' challenge again as it was just so wonderful last year. The envelopes are numbered 1-400. When you pick the envelope you want, (envelope 121 = you're donating $121) you just call the rescue at 419-393-2400 or email fofrescue@gmail.com. You can call or email anytime from 9:00am to 5:00pm. And just like last year, each row will be entered into a drawing for a prize!

In other news it has been a super productive kitten season! We've got so many and they are in various stages of treatment. Let's go over a quick rundown!
Millie, black and white semi feral mommy who gave birth on the property. Her date of birth is 12/1/22. She give birth to 4 kittens on 5/6/23. They are Butterbean (F-brown tiger with spots), Cheerio (F-brown tiger), Achoo (M-inky), and Squizzle (F-white and brown tiger). All are being treated for ringworm and we are almost done!
Puddin is a brown tiger with the most beautiful eyes. She was found alone in someone's garage. She was born 5/3/23. Also in the back thumpers room being treated for ringworm.
Cast and Servalan were both found in a box outside of Walmart at 10pm. Cast is a black tiger, female, with a DOB 4/15/23. Her brother, Servalan is an orange tiger. Also treating for ringworm.
Nalu is in Dodgers pin in the main room and has been starting to explore the main center. She is a beautiful long haired gray kitty and was found in someone's yard. She is really uniquely colored! Her DOB is 4/18/23.
Will Power came in also found in someone's yard with an injured front leg. He seems to have no feeling in it but is on pain meds to make him comfy. He is just an absolute love bug and so playful. His DOB is 4/27/23.
Qwilleranne is the newest girl we took in. She is an American Short Hair girl with the most beautiful caramel and black coloring! Her DOB is 5/29/23. She is very sweet and playful.
We also have Maybelle and the Babybelles! Our volunteer Olivia was kind enough to foster Maybelle until the babies were born. So very grateful for her help. Maybelle is a solid inky with a DOB of 10/26/22. She gave birth on 5/21/23 to 6 very healthy kitties. They are: Berry Belle (F-white and brown tiger), Burger (M-brown tiger), Cashew II (M-black with white tummy patch and white chest patch), Rys Oliver (M-with white stripe on forehead), Vincent III (M-Black with white mittens and tummy), and Hali (F-black with white tummy patch).
Whew, talk about a lot! We've also had some returns and these always break my heart. They are Pogo, Murph, Piet and Sanford. We will always take them back if need be. Always. So, while I am sad for them, I'm glad to know they are safe and loved here!
In other news BOXES!!! Oh my gosh, you guys never stop amazing us! We put out a plea for Mama and Baby Cat wet food, we had completely run out. Over the next few days, an absolute miracle happened. OVER 600 CANS APPEARED! To say we were all giddy with delight would be an understatement. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! I have so many people to show my gratitude to, it would run dozens of pages. So let me just start with last week's boxes.
