 Hi friends! Goodness time sure flies here at FFRC! It seems it has been forever getting a blog out there. I'm sorry about that. Lynnette and I often joke that FFRC is a time warp...we come in on Monday, then a couple hours later its 3:30 on a Friday! I'll try to do a brief update as we have many many boxes to give thanks for! 

Fence-a-thon begins next week! Wow! Here's the info on it: 

                          FENCE-A-THON 2022

July 11th through 15th (Monday through Friday) 

from 9AM to 5PM each day

 

We are doing something newer in the fundraising world called Adopt an Envelope. How this works:

 

There will be 400 envelopes numbered 1-400. The envelope you choose to ‘adopt’ is the amount you are contributing to the funraiser. (i.e., you pick envelope 298 = you PayPal/check/Venmo $298)

 

FIRST:  To pick an envelope, you must call (419-393-2400) or email (fofrescue@gmail.com) to confirm your number. This is to prevent people picking duplicate numbers. 

 

THEN:  Once you get confirmation from FFRC, you can send in your donation.

 

Each envelope contains a ticket for a drawing! We have 40 baskets valued over $100 and a grand prize Kuranda Tower! On top of being entered into the drawing, each person who donates will have their name on a plaque for the new fence!

Should all envelopes get adopted, we will have raised over $80,000. 

 

Oh my! One of the reasons we are doing things differently is to try to minimize the huge expense of shipping AND to make donating accessible to all. Sometimes the Catathon baskets would get so out of reach in prices, many were ruled out in participating!

 

Here are our expenses we’d like to help cover:

New fence $30,000 (we are going with part vinyl, part kitty fence in hopes to be more durable) 

Two outbuildings removed $5,000

Trees removed $7,000

Prepay vet bills and order meds $8,000

Vernie Update: Vernon is hanging in there. We've been amping up the chickie times and walks outside so his days are filled with his favorite things. He has lost a little more weight, but we continue on for the time being just making him as cozy as possible. His appetite is good, and he seems over all happy. I'll take what we can get. 

We did have a little stomach bug working its way through here but luckily that seems to be on the way out. Clean, clean and more clean is the best way to combat this, but it somehow can sneak in. 

All the kitties are doing good and Dagda had his leg amputation and is doing wonderful! I'm so proud of him. I think he's happy to have the pesky, ouchie leg gone. He'll get his sutures out next week. Weee!

We also have an adoption today of Freya! Oh my gosh I'll be sad to see that sweetie go but she's going to  a great home. They already have one of our other kitties, Danu, adopted in October. It'll be wonderful for her.
