Spring is 14 days away now! Robins have been spotted as well as the turkey vultures and red-winged blackbirds. This morning I heard the beginnings of the bird morning songs! Slowly winter is passing. Still a little snow on the ground.
Thursday was our HumaneOhio day. We sent up 45 cats--a very good day. That consisted of 27 females and 18 males. Three of these cats were from FFRC--Myles, Rose and Skandar.
We took in a new kitten--Skandar. This kitten is a male, brown tiger and has a round face and round eyes! He was found all by himself, was hungry and brought to FFRC. He has a birthday of 12/1/20. Skandar is super sweet. He is already on hold! On Friday, he will be going to his new home where Joy Joy was just recently adopted.
The 6 kittens are doing super! Their mama, Rose is now spayed so she will be going back to the home she came from. She will continue to be an inside cat. They are excited to have her back.
This coming week will be busy with people visiting the 6 kittens to pick their choice--a fun time! As we've been doing this past year, we are Covid safe. We always wear the masks, visitors also must wear them. The rooms we use for visits are cleaned in between each visit. Right now, we already have 2 of the kittens on hold--Laura and Joall. I'm sure when these visits are over, all kittens will have a note marked on their chart--on hold! Their spay/neuter day is April 8.
Weds. was our LJ flash sale. It was a happy (and a bit sad) event. We all still miss LJ so very much. This sale comprised of the things she purchased over the years and never used! We found everything all still brand new and knew she would appreciate these items being resold for FFRC. This sale brought in $702!
This Sunday, tomorrow, starts our Fun-Raiser! All 8 items are wonderful. Tickets are $5, as usual. You can buy as many tickets as you wish, for any item(s). The sale ends on Weds. at 9 am and the tickets will all be taken care of. And then, at 1:00, begins the drawing and of course, consolation prizes! These fun-raisers are super important to FFRC and truly makes a difference for what we can do. Thank you. There will be a video on the webcam of the items and also pictures on our fb pages!
Many of you already know that Steve and myself along with our family enjoy taking vacations together. Our spring vacation is coming up! We will leave on the 19th and return on the 28th or 29th. Again, we will be on the 4 x 4 beach of the Outer Banks (OBX). We so enjoy this area as that is where the wild mustangs are. We love watching them, from afar. The volunteers have it all covered and are pros!
Coralie is doing super good. It is noticed when it's almost time for her next dose of meds that some of her symptoms return. Once the med is given, she quickly is back to her normal self. Normally, she gets this med twice a week. Her weight is good and is holding!
This week we did weights, toe nail clippings and ear cleanings for the inside cats. Everyone looks good. The outside cats also received this same treatment and were also brushed/combed out.
We have thanks to give. This Rescue Center couldn't possibly be what it is without your help and support. You all mean so much to us. I thank you for what you do for FFRC.
